Paralegal / Office Manager Sarah May Johnson


Sarah May Johnson, the newest member of the Law Office of Gilbert H. Levy, joined the practice in 2012 as Paralegal / Office Manager. After graduating from Whitman College, Sarah sought life experience through professional endeavors as diverse as managing an eco-tourism lodge office in Alaska to working in a sports bar in Green Bay for a Packer football season to helping to manage an academic tutorial program in the Northwest to studying organic farming on a permaculture farm on Kauai to logistics management on wind energy sites under construction in the Midwest.

After significant travel, Sarah has settled in Seattle where she can relish the city's cultural happenings and can so easily access outdoor adventure. She enjoys all things creative, most frequently painting, sartorial pursuits, botanical cultivation, and cooking.

Gilbert Levy

Gilbert Levy has forty years of experience handling trials, appeals, post conviction matters, capital and First Amendment cases in Federal and State Courts. He has an AV (highest) rating from Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0(superb) rating from AVVO. He has successfully argued a case in the United States Supreme Court, which resulted in the reversal of a death sentence.

Jennifer Kaplan

Jennifer Kaplan has seven years of experience handling federal and state criminal matters. She has successfully argued cases in the Washington Court of Appeals and the United States District Court. In addition to her criminal defense work, Jenn is experienced in handling grand jury matters, First Amendment cases, anti harassment orders and SLAPP suits.
